The original Climb4LifeSM event was conceived by HERA Founder Sean Patrick, while she was recovering from her seventh ovarian cancer surgery. Being an avid rock climber, She felt a rock-climbing event would put a different face on ovarian cancer and get people involved in the cause.

Since that first Climb for LifeSM HERA event, the event itself has evolved and now not includes other events, but extends from climbing to include running, hiking, biking, and various other activities. The common element at HERA events is to empower, educate, and make audiences aware of the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer.

In addition to sporting events, many individuals volunteer to organize and host community events that benefit the HERA Women’s Cancer Foundation. Events range from cross country motorcycle rides like the MOCA Fundraiser to cocktail parties or birthday celebrations honoring important women that have touched our lives.
